A Gourmet Meal in Minutes with Your Instant Pot
Imagine sinking your teeth into a rich and flavorful Italian pasta dish, reminiscent of a high-end restaurant, but made in the comfort of your own home and in just three minutes. This recipe is a game-changer, and the best part? It’s ridiculously easy to make.
The Secret to a Restaurant-Quality Dish
The key to this dish lies in the combination of fresh ingredients, aromatics, and a few clever cooking techniques. With a sharp knife, you’ll start by finely chopping a shallot and garlic, which will form the foundation of your flavor profile. Don’t be afraid to use fresh ingredients, as they make all the difference in the world.
Sun-Dried Tomatoes: The Star of the Show
Next, you’ll chop up sun-dried tomatoes, which are the real stars of the show. These tiny bundles of flavor add a depth and richness to the dish that’s hard to replicate. Be sure to use sun-dried tomatoes that aren’t packed in oil, as you want to avoid excess moisture in the recipe.
Zest and Juice: The Perfect Balance of Flavors
A microplane is an essential tool in any kitchen, and it comes in handy when zesting and juicing a lemon. The bright, citrusy flavor of the lemon zest adds a nice balance to the richness of the sun-dried tomatoes.
Chicken: The Protein that Completes the Dish
Now it’s time to add the protein to your dish. Chicken breasts are the perfect choice, and you can slice them into bite-sized chunks or leave them as is, depending on your preference. If you’re looking for a convenient and high-quality meat source, consider trying a butcher box subscription.
Sauteing the Aromatics: The Foundation of Flavor
Heat up your Instant Pot to saute mode, and add a splash of olive oil to get things started. Once hot, add your chopped shallots and cook until fragrant, about 20 seconds. Then, add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides. The secret to avoiding burnt garlic is to add it after the chicken has had a chance to brown.
The Magic of the Instant Pot
After adding your garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, and spices, it’s time to add the white wine (or broth, if you prefer). This is where the magic of the Instant Pot really comes into play. The high pressure cooking time is just three minutes, making this recipe a quick and easy option for even the busiest of days.
Assembling the Dish
Once the Instant Pot has finished cooking, allow for two minutes of natural pressure release, followed by a quick release. Stir in some heavy cream to add richness and creaminess to the sauce. Pecorino romano cheese is the perfect addition to this dish, as its salty flavor balances out the other ingredients. Top with fresh herbs, and you’re ready to serve.
A Dish Fit for a King (or Queen)
This Italian pasta recipe is truly fit for a king (or queen). The combination of flavors and textures is nothing short of impressive, and the best part? It’s surprisingly easy to make.
